Cookie Policy

Cookies and similar technologies used by Headnoted, including essential sessions, optional analytics, chat and advertising choices.

Last updated: October 26, 2026

Policy details

Headnoted uses cookies and similar browser storage for sessions, security and preferences, and optional services when you consent. Open Cookie Settings in the footer to review or change your choices. The categories are strictly necessary, analytics and advertising.

Strictly necessary storage

These cookies support sign-in, form security and choices you make. Their exact names and lifetimes may depend on the deployed session configuration.

| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime | |--------|---------|----------| | headnoted_session | Maintains your session, including anonymous report ownership and sign-in | Configured session lifetime | | XSRF-TOKEN | Protects forms against cross-site request forgery | Configured session lifetime | | remember_* | Optional persistent sign-in | Until expiry, sign-out or revocation | | cc_cookie | Remembers consent choices | Up to 6 months | | appearance, sidebar_state | Stored interface choices where supported; an older choice may remain in your browser | Up to 1 year |

Security checks such as Cloudflare Turnstile may also use strictly necessary storage. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or a scan from working correctly.

Analytics and support

Where configured, Google Analytics measures site use. Its consent mode may send cookieless requests before analytics consent; analytics cookies require consent. PostHog and Tawk.to chat load only after analytics consent. PostHog is configured with no session recording.

Analytics storage can include _ga*, _gid, _gat, ph_*, __tawkuuid and TawkConnectionTime. The consent panel lists the service purposes and indicative lifetimes. The first-party analytics_session_id and analytics_visitor_id identifiers, where used, also require analytics consent. They identify a session or returning browser, not a person’s name. These identifiers are not a promise of visitor tracking features in the SEO product.

Registered-account operational events may be recorded to provide and maintain the service. That is separate from optional browser analytics and does not itself authorise analytics cookies. Our privacy policy describes the information processed for service operation.

Advertising measurement

Advertising consent enables advertising scripts where present, including the X conversion pixel and Google advertising integrations. These can use muc_ads, personalization_id, __gads, __gpi and _gcl_* cookies to measure campaigns or advertising interactions. The free checker does not depend on accepting advertising cookies.

Payments and other services

Stripe hosts payment checkout and the customer portal. Visiting those services can involve Stripe’s own necessary payment and fraud-prevention storage under its policies. Google sign-in and other external services have their own storage when you visit them. Email delivery does not itself set a cookie on Headnoted.

Managing consent

Analytics and advertising categories are off until you accept them. You can accept or reject optional categories independently, and reopen Cookie Settings later. Withdrawing consent stops consent-dependent integrations and clears accessible cookies covered by our consent configuration; it cannot undo processing already completed or directly clear every cookie held on a provider’s domain. Browser settings let you inspect, block or delete those cookies too.

Preferences are stored for the domain where you make the choice. Clearing browser storage may cause the banner to appear again. Blocking all cookies can affect essential functions. There is no separate preference category: recorded consent and interface choices are included under strictly necessary storage.
